Djembe 1 is a class that has been created to ensure a smooth transition from Beginners. It is desigend for those who have taken at least 1 Djembe Beginners 8 week session. We will review the technique for the 2 original tones learned in Beginners; Bass and Open tone as well as introduce the third tone; the Slap. Further expansion of your rhythm library and opportunites to play traditional drum ensemble instruments such as DounDoun, Sangban, Kenkeni, Bells and Shekere. This class will improve your stamina, clarity of tone and work on exercises for independance of your hands.

Djembe 3 has been created for the student that has a greater technical ability for their technique and djembe accompaniment support lines with 3 or more years of classes. In this class students will expand their rhythm library as well as stamina, speed, quality of sound,solo patterns and breaks.

Djembe 2 is designed for the student that has a firm understanding and technical ability of all 3 tones and basic support drum patterns. This class will further develop a students ability for clarity of tone, stamina and speed. Students will work on abiltiy to play all instruments of a traditional ensemble, learn traditional djembe accompaniment rhythmic patterns, and some solo phrasing.

Performance is a class that is designed for the student that has been drumming for a minimum of 4 years. Students will learn the role of the lead drummer and the calling of breaks and solo patterns. While ever expanding the rhythm library.
